Golf Courses

For the past 25 years, Ali’i Turf has provided grass from some of the finest golf courses throughout the islands of Hawai’i. We have helped create new golf courses and helped renovate existing golf courses.

We offer 3 types of grasses for golf courses: SeaDwarf Seashore Paspalum, Tifway Bermuda Grass, and Mini Verde.

SeaDwarf Seashore Paspalum is a patented grass from Environmental Turf. This grass can be used for greens, tees, fairways and roughs on a golf course. SeaDwarf Seashore Paspalum is salt tolerant and can take some shade. Most of the world-famous golf courses and resorts use SeaDwarf Seashore Paspalum. 

Tifway Bermuda is a hybrid grass that many Hawai’i golf courses as well as homeowners use. It has been the most popular sod grass used for sports in the last 50 years. Its fine texture and beautiful dark green color makes it a great choice for golf course fairways and tees. This grass is dense and spreads rapidly. Tifway Bermuda recovers from injury quickly and is one of the toughest, most durable hybrid Bermudas on the market.

For those who love to play on Tifway Bermuda grass, another alternative is the patented MiniVerde. Known as one of the best hybrid ultra-dwarf Bermudas in this century, it is mostly used for golfing greens providing an excellent putting surface. It can tolerate cold weather, shade, and tropical climates. It is a rich dark green grass with less thatch than normal. MiniVerde requires less maintenance in comparison to other types of grass.
